DAY THREE!!!

So today in rehearsal we continued the last two scenes of the play so we could get everything spot on. Then after the kids got their notes from yesterday we are mow doing the WHOLE PLAY once again. This time though we are adding the biggest part of this show...costumes!!! It's a more fun way of saying a very long rehearsal. It's going to be kind of slow because we have to get all the costumes set and the kids need to know when they get on to keep this thing going. That is why I'm back there!!! I'm going to be helping them today and making sure none of them forget stuff and keep it all running smoothly from the shadows.

DAY TWO!

So today we reviewed the acts that we had rehearsed yesterday so we can have everything solidified for the show on Saturday. The whole cast is called today and I hope none of them are sick. So far I haven't gotten any messages saying that they are sick or not so that is a good sighn! Today after the first half of the show though we are starting the second half of the play. This is going to be interesting seeing as there will be a good twenty or more of these kids off stage the whole show till the very end for the finale or the final demon scene. Today will be great!!!

THE FIRST REAL DAY

So the first day was a really good. All the props that were needed are now packed in boxes for the traveling shows!!! I got the stage all set up and ready for the kids to just get up and start the play when they get here. I now have stage helpers and they are going to help me back stage with the kids. Today was pretty mellow though when it comes to that. There were a few sick kids.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING?!

So this is my first blog though I have started my internship three weeks ago. So, here is what has happened so far!

The first week was short for the kids because the schedule was from Tuesday-Thursday. The first day was really fun, I had gotten my "binder" done with WP by adding in a large old warn out book that has everything to do with stage managing. Another thing that had happened was getting the script and all the names of the children. I was shocked to find that there were about 45 kids in this cast all together. I know more than half of these kids.
So later in the same day, I had learned all the rules and regulations of being a stage hand.

On the second day I got to work with three of the kids on their lines and help them memorize their longer lines. It was a lot of fun helping these kids because they are so fast to learn the lines and do this play.

On the third day it was a really good final day for that week. I had talked to Ford about going to their house to get the set stuff that I needed. I had started to help people with their lines more and more and started to really feel the pressure of stage managing. It is almost crunch time!!!

That weekend I had gone to WP and Ford's house to get the items I needed to "create" by the time the big week starts. (the big week is Dress Rehersal)
